We are proud of the achievement and of our first class participants who gave of their time to begin getting computer savvy .Computers In Homes is a priority with the partners who share the vision of every home in New Zealand (and the world ) become ICT literate. We aim to do that in conjnction with the regional Computers In Homes (CIH)projects already established and this project, starting in Herekino and the surrounding rural areas, where ICT is the tool of this and future generations We plan to update, upskill and uplift ourselves in todays ever changing child-friendly zone, called ICT technology, that only children seem to know how to pull-apart and understand how to navigate their way amidst the untold buttons," that keep asking questions." Through learning with our children/mokopuna Kaumatua, me Kuia hoki (also) whanau will be all the richer to share and learn together, now that's worth sharing.

First lot of computers

These are our rewards for taking that unknown step into education, when we thought everything was going to be too hard to learn, because a computer is a clever little electric box.... But then, we have all faced much worse happenings in our life.....what's a little mouse gonna do???? .. of course we found out, walah!!! thank you

eDay Kaitaia 04. 10.08

e-Day in theFar North happenedon 4th October 2008, !What a blast", and sooomany computers
and other ICT ANTIQUES, we were fortunate to catch a glimpse of an old model (probablythe first machines on the market) Commodore 64, bak in the day calculators, even cash registers, stuff before even i was thought of but all the more interesting. Louis, Brad, Chris, Janine, Agnes and mwah, handled the day effortlessly, of course with the Site coordinating by Ursula from Cleanstream Kaitaia . The local people in surrounding areas of Kaitaia were fantastic customers, obliging to questionaires and information on e-Day, now they want to get rid of T.V.s, radios and the like. An excelllent and long day had by all, and a great big thank you to Kaitaia CleanStream for the use of their awesome facilities, and the surrounding communities/schools for their support in the safe removal of toxic e-waste from our landfills. Next year promises to be bigger and better, so we will see you all in Kaitaia for ewaste on e-Day 2009, hopefully the word has got around and we"ll see more volunteers. At the end of the day Kaitaia Far North managed to reap in approxiamately 6 tonnes of e-waste from 103 vehicles on a cool-blustery sunny Far North day

Way to go Kaitaia!! I went to Kaitaia College and have lived in Canada since 1966. Many great memories of high school in Kaitaia and living in Awanui. Love those beaches in the Far North.
