eDay has arrived in the Far North, where Kaitaia and Kaikohe refuse centres will be the official e-day sites for October 4th 2008. e-waste is the fastest growing type of waste, and is more toxic than household rubbish. Some members of the newly formed 20/20 Far North ICT Trust will be in attendance at the Kaitaia Recycling Centre sorting and helping customers who bring along their old computers, mobile phones for another life as a recycled and reuseable piece of equipment or safer disposal of the hazardous parts of the computer.
If you would like to volunteer on eDay - 4th October 2008 give Laurence Zwimpfer - the National eDay Co-ordinator, a call , +64 27 430 6737, or visit the website : www.eday.org.nz, information regarding eDay is on this site, so c'mon get behind your community and think e-waste on eday, the genrations beyond and your landfill will thank you for it.
